Nutritional Treatment

The job of a nutritional therapist is actually not to 'treat', but to support the overall health of the person so that their own body can help with the recovery.  It is very important that clients consult their doctors if they have a serious condition, whether actually diagnosed or suspected, and at all times we will be careful to work in conjunction with them and check any contraindications there may be with medication and nutritional supplements.

The following can be expected, depending on your needs:

  • Thorough case taking, looking at the history of your health and 'putting the pieces of the puzzle together'
  • Discussion, supply of further reading/studies and coaching to help you understand the physiology that may be behind your symptoms
  • Practical advice and guidance on what to eat, how to prepare it and how to integrate it into your life
  • Support, encouragement and someone to answer to!  Many clients find that regular appointments are partly responsible for their success in achieving their goals
  • Body Composition Analysis using Tanita scales and a copy of the report.  This gives us your weight plus a guide to muscle mass, fat percentage, body water, visceral fat and estimated metabolic age.
  • Supplement recommendations where appropriate - these are never compulsory but where we think it will help we will tell you
  • Testing - we use labs like Genova Diagnostics and Biolab.  These tests can range from stool tests to saliva tests for hormone levels and the support teams at these labs have a wealth of information to share to help us work through exactly what the results mean.  Where we can we recommend blood tests that your doctor can do for free
  • Referral - where we can't help we will help you find someone that can
